Kit en route to Alpine on 12/30/99. This was taken on Highway 90 out in the middle of nowhere. It's about 480 miles from our home in Corpus Christi to our first destination in Alpine, TX. Over that span, the elevation goes from sea level up to over 6,000 feet. (85K)

They liked our new SLK so much they invited us to be in the Millenium Parade at Alpine on December 31st. This IS NOT our SLK. Grady's old alma mater, Sul Ross State University, is on the hill in the background. (104K)

Grady driving in the parade (sorry, no pictures of us in the car since we were both IN the SLK). (92K)

Kit chatting preshow with Joe "King" Carrasco, the headliner for the New Year's Eve party in Alpine, TX. (72K)

Kit and Grady getting ready for Y TU QUE party at the Railroad Blues nightclub. This sits right next to the railroad tracks. Fortunately, they stopped all trains from running starting at about 9PM that evening. Part of the railroad's Y2K precautions. (95K)

Grady's favorite picture of Kit taken at dawn on January 1, 2000. Looks pretty happy, n'est pas? (53K)

Chapel in Lajitas (rhymes with fajitas), TX. where we had the ceremony. This is about 120 miles south of Alpine, on the Rio Grande. (71K)

Exchanging rings. (67K)

Dr. Blount and Dr. Blount. (77K)

Kit and Grady with John and Flora White (old buddies of Grady's from his Sul Ross days) without whom this wedding just wouldn't have been nearly as neat. (95K)

Outta here. (72K)

Off to take pictures at "Big Hill" about 12 miles upstream from Lajitas. This road from Lajitas to Presidio, Texas is 50 miles long and takes almost 2 hours to drive. Lots of curves and hills. (60K)

Kit's favorite picture of the groom on "Big Hill". The Rio Grande is in background with Mexico on the far side. (124K)

The bride on "Big Hill". (73K)

Rings. The main diamond in Kit's ring is from a Blount family heirloom. The sapphires on either side are new. (49K)

Kit was, well, pleased with the day's activities. (61K)

And so it is. For both of us; these were among the happiest days of our lives…so far. Thanks for looking. -Kit and Grady
